the typical week-end in Ireland

- Qué tal por Irlanda?
- No so bad.
- ¿Qué me vas a contar?
- Well… what do you want to explain?
- Desmiénteme típicos tópicos o confírmamelos, por ejemplo sobre su aspecto.
- Mmmm…. I would say not. It’s true that there are a lot of people with blue or green eyes but the hair isn’t always ginger. There are people with red hair, with brown hair, blond hair… And I have known German boy who doesn’t look like as stereotyped German boy. Patrick is tall (very tall), slander with green eyes and with skin but his hair is dark and he isn’t a reserve person. He is opened mind person. He tried speaking with me when met us.
-Interesante. ¿Y beben tanto como dicen?
-Well, as all young people! They drink beer, wine, vodka… but Spanish people or American people drink a lot too. But… yes, Irish drink and if they are young they drink more.
- Y a grandes rasgos ¿Qué me dices de los irlandeses?
- They are nice people. When you go to the street, usually somebody say you “hi” when they travel by bus and they hop off it, they say “thank you”. And something that surprised me is that they wait let people set off from the train before coming in. In Spain it doesn’t happens. I think that on balance the Irish are kind people.
- ¿Es tan verde como dicen?
- Yes. In the town the landscape is multicolour because the houses are small and they are painted with colours which range from to bright colours to dark ones. But when you travel by train you can see woods and green fields, all is green! I visited Fota (a natural reserve) and I have seen a lot of exotics animals.
- ¿Y son tan creyentes?
- A lot! When you visit the city (Cork in my case) you find a church (catholic or protestant) every metres! They are beautiful but it is curious to find many of them.
- Ohhh! ¿Fuiste a una típica taberna?
- I was in Soberlane. It is a pub where there is live music on Sundays and table quiz on Wednesdays. You drink and you listen to music.
- ¿Te llovió?
- Of course. The weather is CRAZY! Over the day ii in Ireland may can rain but it can be sunny suddenly. If it is sunny you can be cold because the wind is freezing. Usually it rains between your and five times per day.
- ¿Y de la comida?
- Terrible! Irish people don’t use olive oil to cook. They use butter. They don’t eat rabbit or octopus. Another thing that is different is the time of meals. They have lunch at 12-13 and have dinner at 6, when we –usually- haven’t arrived already at home.
- ¿Pero te gustó la experiencia Irlandesa?
- A lot.
